Why We Built PostPlay
Roger Berent, Co-founder
Our daughter Allison went through the volleyball recruiting process, and we learned something quickly: if you do not take ownership of it yourself, no one else will. Coaches can help. Club directors can help. Recruiting services can help. But none of them are living your child’s process the way your family is, and none of them always know what is best for your athlete.
We spent a lot of time trying to figure it out — researching schools, reaching out to coaches, tracking conversations, and piecing together advice from different places. Some of the services we tried helped in parts, but overall we found the process too scattered, too generic, and too hard to trust. We kept thinking there had to be a better way.
Then Allison went through the transfer portal, and we had to do it all again under more pressure and in less time. That experience made it even clearer: families need a better system to manage recruiting themselves, with better information, better structure, and better outreach.
Now our son William is starting football recruiting. We did not want to repeat the same chaos. Roger is an architect and systems thinker. Amy kept every moving piece organized through both of Allison’s journeys. PostPlay is the system we wished we had from the beginning: verified profiles, researched coaches, honest outreach, and a clear plan each week.
Recruiting is a marathon, not a sprint. PostPlay helps families run it with more structure, clarity, and trust.

How It Works
Athletes create a Verified Passport — a single-page profile containing their stats, film, academics, and coaching references. Coaches and trainers verify the data, so college programs know what they’re seeing is real.
When an athlete is ready to reach out, they spend one of a limited number of weekly tokens to message a coach. That scarcity means every message carries real intent — no mass emails, no spam. College coaches see exactly who chose their program and why.
